28 July 2022. Are you sure these figures are correct? I'm asking because we're faced with tariffs which will cost us five times as much as our previous tariff. That's most of my pension. These are the figures, quoted today, for a 12 month fixed price contract, on the Loyal Octopus plan: Tariff cost breakdown ⚡ Electricity Daily standing charge 44.57p /day Unit rate (day) 51.74p /kWh Unit rate (night) 35.69p /kWh 🔥 Gas Daily standing charge 27.22p /day Unit rate 15.59p /kWh The prices we're paying for electricity now, on the Octopus Go Faster fixed rate plan, are: Electricity Standing charge: 25p per day Day Rate: 15.5p per kWh Night rate: 5.5p per kWh Gas is on a different plan and was changed to the following a few months ago: Standing charge: 27.22p per day Tariff: 7.28p per kWh I expected substantial price rises, but the ones quoted are downright frightening, and substantially higher than any of the figures you posted on this page.
